Course Description
The presenter—Camille Zeiter, LICSW—will illustrate ways to make EMDR therapy more efficient for military service members and veterans transitioning to civilian life. Specific resources and target planning with an emphasis on chronological and thematic clustering related to military events will be presented. Target selection and ideal strategies for blocked processing will be emphasized. Mechanics and TICES strategies will be reviewed, common military blocking beliefs will be discussed, and cognitive interweaves unique to the military will be illustrated. The “forgotten” prong, the future template, will be also be discussed with respect to the veteran in transition. Case examples will be provided.
