Course Description

Join us as we learn how EMDR Therapy works with children and teens via telehealth. In this session, we examine key considerations of working with kids virtually with special attention given to fidelity, safety, effectiveness, and practicality. Attention to diversity, equity and inclusion is placed throughout. Similarities and differences between telehealth and in-person sessions are explored. And experientially, we delve into a variety of ways to engage kids in remote delivery of EMDR through the integration of play therapy techniques, movement, applications of the Polyvagal Theory, art, music and more.

Learning Objectives

1. Participants will be able to describe 7 key considerations of EMDR via telehealth with children and adolescents.
2. Participants will be able to describe 3 key differences between in-person and telehealth EMDR therapy with children and adolescents.
3. Participants will be able to demonstrate 3 segments of the basic protocol in EMDR therapy with a child and an adolescent via telehealth.
