Course Description
This panel—featuring Ricky Greenwald, Psy.D.; Jamie Marich, Ph.D.; Carolyn Settle, LCSW; and Deb Courtney, Ph.D., LCSW—will present strategies for treating suicidal and high-risk youth, with a focus on the special challenges our youth face today. Each youth specialist will provide a 30-minute case presentation of a high-risk client. Cases will illustrate how current day issues such as bullying, social media, and addiction are impacting our youth. Attention will be given to clients’ triggers, favorite coping mechanisms, needed resources, and the therapist’s case conceptualization for treatment planning. Standard EMDR therapy, along with specialized additions, such as intensive treatment and addiction-focused approaches will be explained.
