About Me
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor serving clients in both California and Oregon. I specialize in an integrative approach to helping individuals and families improve relationships and heal trauma with an emphasis on treating traumatic experiences from childhood. I am also an Adjunct Professor of Psychology at Pepperdine University’s Graduate School of Education and Psychology, teaching courses related to the treatment of children and adolescents as well as couples and families. In 2022, I co-created a parenting education course through The Tech Savvy Parent, which helps parents adapt the parenting skills they are already using to children’s online experiences. The course supports parents in helping their children thrive in the digital age. I currently live in Portland, Oregon with my husband and daughter.
Education & Experience
I earned a Master of Science Degree in Counseling from California State University, Fullerton in 2005 and was subsequently trained and certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR). Additionally, I spent 12 years at a non-profit organization in Southern California, working with adults and children affected by intimate partner violence. I have been teaching future therapists as an adjunct professor at Pepperdine University since 2017.
