About Me
Hello, I'm Alejs (pronounced 'Alex'). I'm a latinx, trans non-binary trauma therapist based in British Columbia. My approach to EMDR is relational and somatic, drawing from experiential models like IFS and Somatic-Attachment Psychotherapy. My practice centres on supporting 2SLGBTQIA+ folks, neurodivergent folks, immigrant & 1st. generation folks, People of the Global Majority (PoGM), athletes and outdoor enthusiasts. Areas of therapeutic focus include: complex relational trauma including childhood sexual, physical and emotional abuse and neglect, religious trauma, intergenerational trauma, gender-based violence, burnout, anxiety and depression.
Education & Experience
I have a Master of Education in Counselling Psychology from the University of British Columbia (UBC). I graduated in 2019 and have been in independent practice since then, supporting queer, trans and gender diverse clients.
