About Me
It’s my aim to support clients to feel understood and safe in exploring their challenges so they might access greater clarity of their true self. My nature is down to earth and open; I like to dig into therapy with you, build a frank and trusting dynamic and co-create a sense of curiosity about the experiences in your life that might inform present patterns of thinking, feeling & behaving. I believe that humor, trust and unconditional regard are the hallmarks of a strong therapeutic relationship.
Education & Experience
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New York State. I obtained my Master in Social Work at Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College, focusing on clinical social work and being trained through an anti-oppressive framework. I’ve since received postgraduate training in Internal Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-based practices and EMDR. Prior to my work in private practice settings, I have 10+ years experiences in various community mental health settings, with specialized focus in serving people in the LGBTQIA+ community, as well as those that have experienced serious mental illness, substance use disorders, trauma, sexual violence and homelessness. I have extensive experience in trauma-informed therapy, as well as in areas of anxiety, attachment issues and mood disorders.
