About Me
Hi,My name is Alison Leslie, I received my master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Denver, with a certificate in Animal Assisted Social Work in 2007. I have over ten years of experience, working with children, families, college students and adults. I strive to use experience, nature and animals in my approach to working with children and adults. She is trained in CBT and is a fully certified EMDR therapist through EMDRIA and approved consultant. In 2017, I was accepted into a three -year training program to become a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner and have completed all my coursework for this certification. I am the co-founder of the Monroe County LINK Alliance, a multidisciplinary team that aims to create a coordinated community response to identify and inform on the co-existence of animal abuse and intra-familial crime, including child abuse, domestic violence, and elder abuse. When I am not I enjoy spending time outside, hiking and exploring nature with my family and pets.
