About Me
Allie Kidd, LISW-S, LCSW is an independently licensed social worker in Ohio and New York and an EMDR Certified therapist. Allie enjoys working with complex trauma, birth trauma and issues related to parenting and the entire perinatal journey including infertility. Allie earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from Columbia University School of Social Work in 2012 and spent years working in various residential settings including juvenile detention and adolescent residential treatment facilities. In 2017, Allie relocated with her family to Ohio and after a few years working in addiction focused adult residential facilities and outpatient settings in community mental health, she made the decision to begin her own private practice focusing on supporting womxn and parents throughout their parenting journey. Her aim is to help moms alleviate their present overwhelm and anxiety through EMDR, something that has helped Allie personally spend less time worrying about screwing up her kid and more time enjoying the moment. Addressing the various forms of birth trauma so many womxn experience is a passion of Allie’s and she is proud to have opened her practice to focus on bringing relief to so many moms who need it. Allie is an adamant believer in EMDR and loves teaching and helping clinicians to develop their own skills and increase their confidence in the model, which led her to become an EMDR Consultant in Training (CIT) under Amber Stiles-Bodnar, MSEd, LPCC-S, LCDC III. Allie particularly enjoys collaborating with and empowering clinicians to find their groove using EMDR and seeing their practical implementation of a therapy she loves.
