Preferred Name: Aly
About Me
I am a Registered Psychotherapist specializing in grief, loss, and traumatic bereavement. My practice is grounded in compassion and focused on supporting individuals navigating the life-altering impact of sudden or unexpected death, traumatic loss, or complex grief. I integrate EMDR therapy with approaches such as Emotionally Focused Therapy, somatic work, and narrative therapy to help clients process overwhelming experiences, reduce symptoms of trauma, and move toward a greater sense of connection, stability, and hope. My goal is to create a safe, supportive environment where clients feel understood and empowered as they rebuild their lives after loss.
Education & Experience
I hold a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology and a Master's degree in Social Planning from the University of Toronto. I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. I have completed advanced training in EMDR therapy, including its application in grief and traumatic bereavement. Over the course of my career, I work with with teens, adults, couples, and families who are facing the aftermath of sudden loss, terminal illness, or repartnering after the death of a partner. In addition to EMDR, I draw on specialized training in grief-informed care, trauma-focused modalities, and attachment-based therapies to meet the unique needs of my clients.
