About Me
My favorite part of counseling is when a person finally believes in their heart what they know in their brain. I'm loveable, I'm capable, I'm safe. I believe everyone who walks into my office was born worthy of love and happiness but trauma can make that seem impossible, but even in muddy waters, a lotus flower blooms. My approach to counseling is to empower clients with knowledge and resources so they can choose a path to healing at their pace and comfort level. I began working in mental health in 2011 during which I've worked in a variety of settings (school, homes, crisis stabilization programs, and outpatient practices). In addition to EMDR, I'm certified in Trauma-Focused CBT and Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga. I've worked with children as young as 4 and adults as wise as 50. Aside from complex trauma and PTSD, I also specialize in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders. Finding a counselor that you feel comfortable with can be difficult so if you want a counselor with a Ravenclaw Brain and a Hufflepuff Heart, I just might be a good match for you. If I'm not, we'll find you someone that is.
