About Me
Providing clients with non-judgmental, caring, and compassionate treatment is my passion. Empowerment, validation, and client-centered therapy are what help my clients overcome obstacles they encounter, along with a therapist who believes in being an advocate. My mission is to help clients become the best version of themselves, whatever that may be. Treatment is not a “cookie-cutter” approach and must be tailored and individualized to each person. Each client will have unique challenges. I am a certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor, Certified EMDR Therapist, and Certified Trauma Professional. My main focus is working with clients who have experienced trauma in their lives. I also specialize in sobriety, relapse prevention, and overcoming relapse for clients experiencing a range of substance use disorders. During my time working in a primary substance abuse setting I was able to serve clients from diverse backgrounds. I’ve worked with clients from a wide range of socioeconomic, religious, and cultural backgrounds. I completed my training at Aurora University. I hold both a Master’s in Social Work with specialties in Addictions and Healthcare and a Master’s in Business Administration with a specialty in Leadership. I have a history of mental health and substance use experience through my 20 years in the U.S. Army, where I dealt with many Veterans who were struggling with various mental health issues such as PTSD and substance use disorders, both in and out of service. I have experience with detox and residential inpatient counseling as a Veterans Therapist and Clinical Therapist. I offer a variety of treatments, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, and EMDR. I can customize treatment specifically for you. My specialties are working with clients struggling with substance abuse, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, ADHD, and PTSD/Complex Trauma. I consider learning about someone’s unique and personal story to be an honor and privilege. I look forward to professionally engaging with each client’s internal world while walking alongside them on their journey.
