Amber Smith, LISW-S, LCSW
Preferred Name: Amber
About Me
I help people who have experienced distressing life circumstances let go of shame, rediscover who they are, and find reasons to smile again. People truly can heal from trauma and already have the tools within to navigate that journey. I strive to extend empathy, invite open expression and cultivate a sense of connection and safety for every person that I meet. It truly is an honor when people invite me into their world and give themselves permission to be courageously vulnerable. I would be honored to help discover what healing looks like for you, should you choose to know longer travel that path alone. You were never meant to do this all alone.
Education & Experience
I specialize in serving children, adults and combat veterans. I also have experience serving people with complex, chronic medical conditions and am aware of the unique challenges this special group faces. Caregivers- you need more support than you get. If you are unable to verbalize- that's ok. You don't necessarily need to talk about it to heal it. If you are a person who has difficulty trusting others, who finds it challenging to have meaningful relationships although you desire them, and possibly were labeled with a personality disorder in the past- I would like to work with you. I hold a Master's in Social Work from Cleveland State University and have training in multiple therapeutic modalities. I am happy to serve clients in Ohio and Texas.
