About Me

Amy Huynh is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with BLOOM Counseling and Consulting. She received her Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University and her Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from California State University, Long Beach. Her passion to become a psychotherapist grew from her experience working as a child welfare social worker. Through this experience, Amy’s drive to help people heal from childhood trauma propelled her into the direction of becoming a Marriage and Family Therapist. Amy’s work and interning experiences include working in recovery and working with disenfranchised youth, with a focus on trauma, co-occurring disorders, and addiction. Amy is a warm and supportive therapist, and sees her clients through a compassionate and nonjudgmental lens. She wholeheartedly believes in a person’s ability to heal and grow with support through therapy. Amy has a deep passion for helping others heal and transform their experiences. She strives to help her clients gain empowerment and growth through the therapeutic alliance. She believes in providing clients with a supportive space, as well as effective interventions to foster self discovery and encourage the healing process. Her practice specialties include trauma, addiction, co-occurring disorders, codependency, anxiety, attachment, and self esteem issues. She utilizes mind body interventions, somatic work, DBT, and EMDR in her practice.
