About Me
Your story matters. You matter.
I strive to support each person in my care as they develop a true sense of self and explore what recovery means for them. I work to center the human, rather than the diagnosis. People of all colors, cultures, genders, national and ethnic origins, physical abilities, recovery status, relationship status, sexual orientations, and spiritual beliefs are welcome.
Education & Experience
I earned a Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Akron and am independently licensed in the State of Ohio as a Professional Clinical Counselor with Supervision accreditation. I have been practicing for more than 10 years, integrating EMDR into my practice for more than 5 years. Prior to counseling, I worked for advocacy-focused non-profit agencies to remove barriers to healthcare and employment opportunities. I believe in the inherent dignity and value of every person.
I have counseled adults and elders with a wide range of mental health diagnoses, including ADHD, Anxiety and Depression, Bipolar I and II, Borderline Personality Disorder, Gender Dysphoria, PTSD, Schizophrenia, and Substance Use Disorders of varied types and severity. I have significant experience counseling those with developmental and complex trauma, dissociation, dual diagnoses, gender and identity issues, grief, life transitions, survivors of sexual abuse and trauma, and the families/friends of people with Substance Use Disorders.
I have sought continuing training in complex trauma, dissociation, Flash reprocessing, grief, and Motivational Interviewing. I value lifelong learning and seek out opportunities to strengthen cross-cultural appreciation and connection.
