About Me

Ana is a bilingual therapist who transitioned from a previous career to becoming a mental health provider. Ana obtained her Masters in Counseling from Southern Methodist University after realizing that helping others was more than just a career. Ana worked for seven years at the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center, a local non-profit organization which provides services for families affected by the most severe cases of child abuse in Dallas County. As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Ana works with individuals of all ages. In an effort to better serve clients, Ana is certified in multiple evidence-based modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). Ana also has special training to work with children as a Registered Play Therapist (RPT). In working with children, she melds the power of play therapy within various modalities. Consultation and training are important in this field. Ana actively seeks continuing education as well as trains others in trauma-informed care and has presented at the national and international level. Consultations on important issues are also provided with other mental health professionals. Ana has a passion for serving Latinx and Spanish-speaking families as well as addressing cultural considerations. Ana had the privilege of being awarded the Texas Association for Play Therapy (TAPT) inaugural Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity award in 2021. Ana uses she/her/ella pronouns.
