About Me
¡Hola! Soy Angélica Figueroa, trabajadora social licenciada (LCSW) en el estado de California. Soy Latina, bilingüe, Mexicana-Americana, primera generación nacida en los Estados Unidos. Llevo 14 años proveyendo servicios de salud mental en centros comunitarios de salud mental y centros de salud médicos integrados. Incluso, he desempeñado funciones de liderazgo y gestión. He ejercido mi consultorio privado desde el 2023. Recibí mi entrenamiento en terapia de EMDR por medio de The Institute for Creative Mindfulness (ICM). Soy terapeuta EMDR certificada a través de la Asociación Internacional de EMDR (EMDRIA). Actualmente, estoy en el proceso de obtener mi certificado como consultora en EMDR trabajando con Jasmine Adams, LCSW, PMH-C. Tengo mi bachillerato en psicología y literatura española y mi maestría en trabajo social. Me identifico como miembro de BIPOC y de comunidades marginadas. Entiendo los desafíos que uno encuentra al intentar obtener servicios de salud mental que toman en cuenta las varias maneras en que nuestras partes internas son afectadas con el simple hecho de ser miembro BIPOC, LGBTQIA+ y comunidades marginadas. Ha sido y sigue siendo el objetivo de mi carrera ese puente para nuestras comunidades. Hi! I am Angélica Figueroa, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of California. I have practiced for 14 years. I am Latina, bilingual Spanish and English speaking, first-generation, Mexican-American. I have worked in outpatient community mental health centers, integrated medical health centers, held leadership and management roles, and have held my private practice since 2023. I received my foundational training for EMDR by The Institute for Creative Mindfulness (ICM). I am a Certified EMDR Therapist through the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA) and I am currently an EMDR Consultant-In-Training working with Jasmine Adams, LCSW, PMH-C. I have a bachelor’s degree in psychology and Spanish literature as well as a master’s in social work. I identify as a member of the BIPOC and marginalized communities. I understand the challenges with obtaining mental health that takes into account all parts of us as we work towards healing. It has been and continues to be my life’s goal to bridge the gap for our communities.
