About Me

Hello!

I am so thankful I get to be here to share this biographic about me! As a first generation, Chicana licensed therapist who has lived and learned experience in mental health struggles and pain, I continually believe in hope for you and me. In the therapy space you will find I am a curious, nerd who also shares a warm and necessarily direct “tía/auntie’” vibe. My goal is to be myself (flawed and all) so you can relax into all sides of you, to feel less judgement and more self-compassion, as we seek the roots of your issues.

Informed Practices

Before we can get to the root of it all with trauma reprocessing & desensitization, we often need to build the skills to have the ability to access such painful memories, emotions, and legacy trauma histories. As a result, I inform my therapy practice around Mindfulness (mind-body connections), Dialectal Behavioral Therapy, psychoeducation (e.g.,nervous system, trauma defense actions, attachment), and implement lifestyle shifts. I also inform my EMDR practice through a lens of Parts Work with insight and teachings from Structural Dissociation Model/Theory and Internal Family Systems (IFS).

Healing with me is not a destination. It will be an ever-evolving opportunity to gain self awareness, clear the historical burdens, and shift negative beliefs to helpful beliefs. All of which, will maintain your ability to access and embody your deepest wisdom, which will free you to be your truest Self.
