Preferred Name: Ashlyn
About Me
Ashlyn is a licensed certified social worker who is passionate about empowering clients to heal, grow in self-confidence, and make changes in their lives to live in alignment of their values to create a more meaningful and purposeful life. She strongly believes in a person-centered, collaborative, and relational approach where she works with clients to develop goals for treatment that are individualized to their needs and personal goals. By offering a variety of therapy modalities, Ashlyn seeks to utilize a client’s existing strengths and resources to promote one’s self-confidence, regard, compassion, acceptance, and worth while also equipping them with tools and skills to make the desired changes to their lives. Ashlyn strongly believes that everyone is the source of their own healing.
Ashlyn strongly believes that clients are the experts of their own lives and experiences and utilizes her role as a therapist to provide a safe place where clients can heal, realize their worth, learn to advocate for themselves, and become more connected with both themselves internally and others externally.
With professional experience in both inpatient and outpatient mental health settings as well as internships at numerous local domestic violence shelters, Ashlyn has experience with a variety of populations with a wide range of mental health symptoms and other conditions. Ashlyn does not believe in a one-size fits all therapy schema and is a self-identified nerd that seeks frequent participation in psychoeducational trainings.
Ashlyn implements an integrative approach to therapy to address unmet needs and healing in a holistic way. At this time, she works with adults only for individual therapy.
Ashlyn has experience with clients with a variety of backgrounds and believes in the dignity and worth of every person. She uses a uses a systems perspective to empower clients to love and accept themselves while validating their experiences with oppressive systems working against them.
Ashlyn would be honored to have an opportunity to get to know you and views it as a privilege to get to walk with others through their healing journeys.
In her free time, Ashlyn enjoys spending time with her husband, six beloved pets, friends, and family. Her hobbies include playing Fishball (a sport originating in Fayetteville that is a hybrid of volleyball, tennis, and dodgeball), watching sports (primarily football and soccer), learning and reading, relaxing while being cozy, and playing a variety of card and board games.
She is a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community and is a proud ally of the Global Majority (an alternative phrase for minorities/people of color) and invites people to bring all parts of themselves and areas of their lives into their sessions.
