About Me
I take a broad, diversified and holistic approach to counseling. By taking a holistic approach, we can utilize as many factors as possible that contribute to well-being and not leave out external factors that psychotherapy has traditionally neglected. In addition to Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, I utilize strategies from cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, compassion-focused therapy, existential and humanistic/client centered and nature therapies. There are many paths to wellness and each path is unique to each individual. I believe in supporting and affirming you while, at the same time, challenging you to grow.
Education & Experience
I received a Master of Social Work degree from Eastern Washington University in 2009. I worked in community mental health in Spokane, Washington for over 10 years. I am a certified EMDR therapist and a Level I Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. I am experienced working with people who struggle with trauma and PTSD, anxiety, depression and borderline personality disorder. During my 10 + years of community mental health experience, I have worked with virtually every diagnosis and I learn and grow with each client.
