Beverly “Mecca” Moss is a New York City native and relocated to Charlotte, N.C. in 2001. Her vision is to make the world a better place by providing a holistic approach to healing & wellness. In 2010, she established Moss Counseling Services PLLC., a Charlotte-based private practice. She prides herself in providing affordable counseling services to individuals of marginalized communities. Her specialties include survivors of Trauma, LGBTQ+, substance abuse, sexually reactive youth, childhood & adult mental health.
Education & Experience
Mecca is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor- Supervisor & Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist - Associate. (LCMHC-S /LCAS-A). Mecca has Experience working in the MH/DD /SAS field for 30+ years . She has been a licensed clinician in private practice for 11 years . Her education is as follows: Master of Arts in Counseling, Webster University Greenville SC . Bachelor of Social Work, College of Staten Island in New York.
Professional & Volunteer Affiliations
Mecca is a current professional member of the World Professional Association of Transgender Health Care (WPATH), Charlotte Transgender Health Care Group (CTHCG) & EMDR international Association (EMDRIA ). She is currently volunteering on the board for the Lionel Lee Center for Wellness & the Novant Healthcare Diversity and Inclusion Board. Mecca is a founding board member of the Freedom Center for Social Justice (FCSJ), a founding member of the Charlotte Transgender Health Care Group (CTHCG) & founder of A.S.P.I.R.E. Inc. Mecca has served in the past capacity as a board member and volunteer at several local organizations (e.g., City Council Community Advisory board, Transcends Charlotte, Time Out Youth, Care Ring, Unity Fellowship Church, & CMS schools).
