About Me

I am Bibiana Carvalho and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). I completed my bachelor degree in psychology 1995 and earned my master degree in USA. I am fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese. I have worked in a variety of settings including in clinics, corporations, and hospital. I am an effective Counselor/Therapist with an extensive experience working with multicultural individuals and groups to improve interpersonal skills, develop stress management techniques, and facilitate conflict resolution. I am specialized in therapy with young adults, adults, couples who are experiencing a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, traumatic events (both from childhood and in adulthood), relationship concerns, and adjustment to major life transitions (e.g., marriage, divorce, loss/grief, pregnancy, career). With a focus on strengths rather than pathology, I help clients recognize how their past experiences are connected with their current concerns. I am a Certified Counselor Hypnotherapist and Eye Movement Desinsitization Reprocessing (EMDR). I incorporate an integrative approach Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral (DBT), Psychodynamic, and Interpersonal therapy interventions to guide the client to their goals and live a worth live living.
