About Me

I am an LCSW with over 20 years of experience in working with adults, teens, children and families in various social work settings. I am certified in EMDR, and currently working toward becoming an EMDRIA approved consultant. I am the Owner and Clinical Director of Brookhaven Counseling & Wellness in Lindon, UT. My favorite parts of my job are empowering my individual clients to find healing, and mentoring other therapists. It is a privilege to be trusted and invited to be a part of these journeys. I care deeply about destigmatizing mental health care, and elevating the social work profession. I aspire to make a real difference in our community in both of these areas. I am married and have a big blended family that I love spending time with

Education & Experience

I began my career as a social worker shortly after graduating with my Bachelor of Social Work from Brigham Young University in 1999. My first job out of school was as a permanency worker for DCFS. I remained with DCFS for the next 13 years, earning a Masters in Social Work from the University of Utah during my time there. It was during grad school that I began training in EMDR. For the next few years, I tried on some other clinical roles as I was practicing and getting to know myself as a clinical social work. I gained experience as an ER crisis worker (2 years), a therapist in a non-profit agency (1 year) and in hospice social work (5 years). I loved working in hospice, and never thought I would leave. Ultimately, I came back to my roots of wanting to help people have real and lasting healing from trauma. I opened my own practice and built my clientele of adult clients who were mostly seeking EMDR therapy. After 2 years, my practice grew into a small group, and today, we are 23 strong and continuing to grow.
