About Me
I believe therapy is most effective when people feel genuinely seen, understood, and safe enough to explore experiences and parts of themselves that may be difficult to approach alone. My style is warm, relational, thoughtful, and collaborative. I recognize that no single approach fits every person, and I work with each client to understand not only what has happened in their life, but how those experiences may continue to shape the way they see themselves, relate to others, and move through the world.
As an EMDR-trained therapist, I integrate EMDR with Internal Family Systems (IFS) and other therapeutic approaches to help clients process painful experiences, better understand the patterns and parts of themselves that developed in response to those experiences, and move toward greater emotional freedom and a stronger sense of self.
Education & Experience
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New Jersey and New York with more than 30 years of experience in the mental health and human services fields. I earned my Master of Social Work degree from New York University and my Juris Doctor degree from William & Mary Law School. My professional experience spans clinical practice, organizational leadership, administration, and higher education.
My clinical training and experience include EMDR therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), psychodynamic therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed approaches. I use an integrative clinical framework that allows me to draw thoughtfully from different therapeutic models based on each client’s needs, experiences, and treatment goals.
In addition to my clinical practice, I teach advanced graduate-level courses to Master of Social Work students at Rutgers University. I am also the founder and owner of Lessons N Sessions, a diverse group psychotherapy practice in Somerset, New Jersey, where I provide clinical services and support the professional growth and development of clinicians.
