About Me

I'm an LCSW, EMDRIA Approved Trainer, and Certified Consultant based in Utah. I founded Purple Sky Counseling in 2015 and have grown it into a multi-site trauma-specialized group practice. My clinical and training work centers on complex trauma, emotional neglect, dissociation, religious and spiritual trauma, and neurodivergence, with a particular focus on the invisible wounds that don't fit neatly into the "big T" trauma framework.

EMDR is the thread that runs through everything I do. I've been training clinicians in EMDR Basic Training since 2019 (15 cohorts and counting), and I love watching newer therapists move from "following the protocol" to actually trusting themselves in the room with a client. Beyond basic training, I develop and deliver advanced CE trainings on emotional neglect, dissociation, parts work, religious trauma, and EMDR with neurodivergent clients.

I'm also the author of Becoming Me: Unraveling and Healing the Sacred Wounds of Religious Trauma in Women (2025), and I speak nationally on trauma, religious trauma, and the clinical realities of working with high-functioning clients whose pain often goes unnamed.
