About Me

I am currently a PhD student at Walden University. I am a veteran spouse and together we have five children. I have a passion in serving veterans and their families which is the focus of my dissertation. I enjoy working with various populations and implement various strategies into my practice. My theoretical approach is client-centered and utilizes evidence-based practices to support, encourage, educate, and empower my clients. I believe it is important to focus on my client’s strengths to assist them in identifying coping strategies to address cognitive distortions and negative behaviors.

Education & Experience

I received my master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling in 2015 from Argosy University, a CACREP accredited program in mental health counseling. I am also a National Certified Counselor through the National Board of Certified Counselors. I have completed my coursework and currently writing my dissertation to obtain a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision.
