About Me
In my career, I have worked extensively with trauma and its sequelae in a variety of populations. I am currently in private practice and also provide EMDR therapy at the Meadows IOP Treatment Center in Silicon Valley, which specializes in trauma and addictions. Prior to that, I was with Para Los Niños in Los Angeles for six and a half years working with children and their families living in poverty. At Para Los Niños, in addition to providing extensive clinical work in the community to children and their families, I supervised clinicians and developed a trauma training program to educate the clinical staff in trauma-competent care. I also provided a variety of trainings to parents and teachers on trauma and related topics, and assisted Para Los Niños charter schools with the implementation of trauma-informed practices in the classroom. Though I worked with children and adolescents of all ages, my clinical specialty was the birth-to-five population, and the treatment of trauma and attachment disorders with Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP). I have maintained a private practice since 2014, specializing in adults with histories of childhood trauma (and trauma in adulthood), who present with a variety of symptoms including PTSD, anxiety, depression, dissociative symptoms and disorders, self-esteem issues, codependence, emotional regulation issues, interpersonal distress, and a general feeling of “stuckness.” I am a Certified EMDR Therapist and an EMDRIA Approved Consultant. I have completed advanced EMDR trainings including the EMDR-Sandtray Protocol, EMDR for Chronic Pain, and EMDR protocols for attachment and dissociative disorders.
Education & Experience
I am Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and graduated from Pepperdine University in 2012 with a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology with an Emphasis in Marriage & Family Therapy. My undergraduate degree was obtained at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I am passionately committed to continued learning, and increasing my skillset as a clinician. I am a member of the International Society for the Study of Trauma & Dissociation (ISSTD) and regularly attend trainings through them on complex trauma and the treatment of dissociative disorders, including levels 1 & 2 in their Professional Training Program. In addition to the love of learning, I'm passionate about therapist training, mentorship, supervision & consultation.
