About Me
The first step towards change is acceptance. I’m passionate about supporting your mental health journey. I believe we all have the capacity to heal, grow, and find strength through life’s challenges. In a safe and compassionate space, I work collaboratively with clients to explore their experiences, build resilience, and develop meaningful tools for self-understanding. Together, we move toward greater clarity, relief, and lasting emotional well-being. With nearly 12 years of experience in the mental health field, I’ve had the honor of working with some of the most underserved and vulnerable communities. My early work as an in-home family therapist focused on keeping families together by supporting reunification and preventing out-of-home placement, work that deeply shaped my commitment to family-centered care. I also had the privilege of launching the first school-based mental health program within a Wisconsin public school district, where I provided therapy to students right where they needed it most. Being embedded in schools taught me the power of a wraparound approach, one that brings together families, educators, and mental health providers to support the whole child. Every step of my journey has deepened my belief that healing happens through connection, compassion, and access to the right support. I’m here to walk alongside you and your family as you find your path toward growth and well-being. I specialize in children, adolescents and families, addressing PTSD, pre-verbal trauma, complex trauma, grief/loss, family reunification, phase of life challenges, anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, attachment, family discord, parental psychoeducation. Working with youth, I bring an atmosphere of creativity, mindfulness, nurturance, and patience to the therapy environment. In 2022, I completed training in EMDR and am skilled at providing play-based EMDR approaches to meet each child's needs. I tailor the work to fit where they are, using gentle and effective methods that support healing in a way that feels safe and age-appropriate. Working with caregivers and the child is a passion, building the foundation of trust and safety through an attachment lens allows Play Therapy and Filial based Therapy become natural to their own environment. While I have areas of specialization, I welcome clients of all ages across the lifespan, including children (ages 3 and up), adolescents, adults, and families. I am trained in a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities, with an emphasis on: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavior Therapy Skills (DBT, including the DBT STEPS-A curriculum), Play Therapy, Theraplay and Filial-Based Play Therapy and am a certified Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapist. My integrative approach allows me to tailor treatment to meet each client's unique needs and goals.
