About Me

I am a psychologist, originally from Cuba, where I practiced for 14 years as a professor and researcher at a medical school. In 1996, I emigrated to Spain with a terminally ill son. There I was able to obtain my psychology license. In 2001, I was forced to emigrate again to the United States, and it was here that our son died. I have rebuilt my personal and professional life from the ashes, and EMDR treatment played a decisive role. I obtained my psychology license in 2009, and in 2010, I completed my EMDR training. Since then, I have dedicated myself to treating immigrant populations, disadvantaged minorities, and patients who suffer from an inability to find a balance in their mental health. I have had the privilege of learning about the backgrounds of people who are very diverse in their race, origins, and life preferences. The trust they have placed in me honors me. And EMDR has been the therapeutic intervention of choice. Educating patients about this no-longer-new therapy, guiding them through the process, and seeing the positive results for their mental health have been the most important professional achievements of my career.
