Education & Experience

I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor with a Master of Science Degree in Counseling Psychology and a Master of Education Degree in School Counseling from Columbia University. In additional to private practice, I am the Health Program Director for the Crisis Intervention Team in Mecklenburg County, NC which addresses gaps in mental health services and trains law enforcement to respond to mental health crisis. Prior to my work with CIT, I was a trauma therapist for a specialized program, which partners with law enforcement to provide trauma therapy to children who are victims of or witnesses of violence or other trauma. I continue my work as a trainer for these programs, teaching law enforcement officers about the impact of trauma on childhood development, trauma symptoms, and mental illness. I also provide training and presentations in the community, am an active member of the Charlotte Resilience Project, and am on multiple community committees and boards addressing gaps in service for those with mental illness.
