About Me

Elizabeth Willman MS, is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) in the State of Wisconsin and Ohio. She is also a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) and a qualified Department of Transportation Substance Abuse Professional (SAP). Elizabeth is a full-time mental health therapist for the Racine Police Department in Racine, Wisconsin. She specializes in treatment of law enforcement, first responders and military members on issues such as trauma, substance abuse, anxiety, post traumatic stress injury and relationships. She is trained in solution focused therapy and focuses on trauma evidenced based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), exposure therapy (ET), and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) as well as mindfulness. She assists law enforcement agencies in with peer support, crisis intervention, family education and counseling. Elizabeth has completed studies in Police Couples Research with Dr. Robin Inwald of Cleverdale, New York. She is published in the Handbook of Police Psychology as well as the Journal of Law Enforcement. She has worked with law enforcement agencies with Officer Involved Shootings (OIS), Peer Support Teams, Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) and Family Support Education. She is an associate member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) and International Law Enforcement Educators and Trainers Association (ILEETA). She is the Wisconsin State Representative for the National P.O.L.I.C.E Suicide Foundation and is an active member of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary and serves as boat crew and Division Staff Officer for Diversity and Inclusion. She enjoys swimming, running, and spending time on the water in her free time.
