About Me

Ellen is a Licensed Professional Counselor graduating with her master’s degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She went to Temple University for her undergraduate degree in music. She is a Board-Certified Music Therapist, Educational Therapist and Nationally Certified Counselor. She has many years personal and professional therapeutic experience, working with individuals of diverse backgrounds and disabilities, of all ages. Ellen is a compassionate and caring therapist with a versatile background, working with children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric clients. One of Ellen’s great strengths is her ability to deeply empathize with her clients while still maintaining the appropriate professional approach, creating a unique ability to understand the complex individual needs of her clients. Ellen specializes in the treatment of individuals who have experienced difficult life events resulting in anxiety, depression, PTSD, and relationship issues. She is trauma focused in her education and is a Certified EMDR therapist. She provides Trauma Resolution Intensives. Ellen is a Certified Child and Adolescent Trauma Professional. She is also trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS) which works on integrating parts of self. Both EMDR and IFS are two evidenced based forms of treatment that permanently resolve past traumas. She is also trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT) which is a form of treatment for managing trauma in children. Ellen Also uses Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) as additional interventions for her clients. She provides faith-based counseling if desired. Ellen can integrate the creative arts into the therapy process if the client chooses. She treats individuals, couples, with ADHD, Adoption Concerns, LGTBQ, Alcohol /Drug Use, Anger Management, Anxiety, Attachment, Behavioral Issues, Bipolar Disorder, Body Dysmorphia, Borderline Personality Disorder, Codependency, Coping Skills, Depression, Dissociation, Divorce, Dual Diagnosis(MH/SA), Dual Diagnosis(IDD/MH), Faith Based Interventions, Grief, Infidelity, Marital and Premarital, Narcissistic Personality Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD), Oppositional Defiance, Parenting Concerns, Relationship Issues, Self Esteem, Sexual Abuse, Stress, Suicidal Ideation, Trauma, and PTSD. In her free time, Ellen enjoys walking, biking, hiking, camping, cooking, learning, traveling, board games, and spending time with her family and friends.
