About Me
I'm Emily Shelton, a dedicated Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a passion for helping individuals navigate the complexities of anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and substance use disorders. My mission is to create a warm and welcoming environment where you can embark on a journey toward self-discovery and well-being. I specialize in supporting individuals dealing with the challenges of anxiety or depression, the pain of grief and trauma, and the struggles related to substance use.
Education & Experience
BS Psychology- UoP 2014 MHS Addiction Studies with a concentration in mental health- Governors State University- 2018 I am a clinical mental health counselor licensed in IL IN, and TN, a grief therapist, and a substance use counselor. I am trained in EMDR and working toward certification. I have been in the field for about 8 years. I currently work in a private practice setting. I have also worked in many different treatment settings including residential treatment, recovery homes, community mental health centers, homeless shelters, home-based treatment at my clients’ homes, and in the community.
