Evan Curry, LCSW
(he/him)
About Me
I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and practicing in Asheville, North Carolina, where I offer both in-person and telehealth sessions to clients across the state. I hold an MSW from Western Carolina University and founded Evan Curry Counseling, PLLC to provide focused, evidence-based care for adults navigating ADHD, trauma, anxiety, and relationship difficulties.
EMDR is central to how I work. I integrate it alongside Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients process difficult experiences, heal negative core beliefs, quiet the internal critic, and build a life that reflects their values — not just their symptoms.
My approach is collaborative and direct. I believe therapy works best when clients understand why we're doing what we're doing, so I take time to explain the reasoning behind interventions rather than asking you to simply trust the process. Whether you're working through a specific trauma, trying to make sense of a lifelong pattern, or looking for tools to manage ADHD in daily life, I aim to create a space that's both structured and genuinely supportive.
In my personal life, I like to spend time outdoors rock climbing, mountain biking, and hanging out with my wife and two dogs.
Education & Experience
I have worked in the mental health field since 2017 and earned my Master of Social Work degree from Western Carolina University in 2021. Over the course of my career, I have worked with diverse populations across a range of settings, including a dual-diagnosis residential treatment center for young adults, community mental health, the Department of Veterans Affairs (working with homeless veterans), and outpatient individual therapy.
I am trained in EMDR, ACT, and IFS.
