About Me

Evan Honerkamp works with LGBTQ+ adults and their unique queer lives. By providing EMDR, Ketamine-Assisted Therapy, Transpersonal Art Therapy, Applied Polyvagal Theory, Mindfulness, ACT, and Liberation/Social Justice work, he works creatively, collaboratively, and compassionately with clients to build self-esteem, heal trauma and shame, support healthy relationships, and navigate significant life transitions.

Education & Experience

Evan graduated with a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Transpersonal Art
Therapy from Naropa University in Boulder, CO in 2016; practicum and internship experiences included community art studio mentorship, milieu therapy within bereavement and hospice care, grief counseling, and community mental health services. Evan has been a professional member of the American Art Therapy Association’s National and Colorado Chapters since 2016, sat on Colorado's Board as Government Affairs Chairperson from 2019-2020, and accrued 2000+ hours in art therapy service before earning national Registered Art Therapist (ATR) designation in 2021. Denver area community mental health provider from 2016-2020. Evan has been an alum of the Psychedelic Research and Training Institute (PRATI) since training in Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy in 2023. Through Evergreen Certifications, Evan has been a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) since 2025. Establishing Studio Spectral PPLC in 2016 and directing/working full-time today, Evan provides integrative trauma-informed mental health therapy services to LGBTQ+ adults throughout Colorado.

The American Art Therapy Association (AATA): member since 2026; Colorado's AATA chapter Government Affairs Chairperson from 2019-2020; Earned Registered Art Therapist (ATR) in 2021.
