About Me
I'm a bilingual (English and Spanish) therapist from San Diego, providing trauma-informed, culturally sensitive therapy to individuals with histories of trauma. My specialty includes people who have experienced single-event traumas (i.e. car accident, natural disaster, etc.) and/or complex traumas (i.e. multiple childhood traumas - sexual, physical, emotional) that have not been processed.
Education & Experience
I hold my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Social Work from San Diego State University. For the past 10 years, I have worked with survivors of human trafficking (sexual and labor) and sexual exploitation of children, teens, and young adults, with their healing process, including utilizing EMDR. In addition, I provided bilingual psychotherapy to thousands of unaccompanied immigrant children during the humanitarian crisis. Aside from private practice, I'm currently a Faculty Therapist at San Diego State University's Counseling and Psychological Services, providing psychotherapy to undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students, including international students and former foster youth. I provide psychophysiological consultation groups for Master's and Doctoral level interns and take part in their training.
