About Me

I believe that it's difficult to reach our unique, authentic, human potential unless we have freed our minds from the past. Freed from traumas, negative memories, all the "shoulds" and "shouldn'ts" of who we are "supposed" to be, what we are expected to act like, societal pressures, family expectations and so on. Yes, we may be high achievers, posess strong intellectual minds and hold good jobs. But what about that fear of making mistakes, those unstable relationships, family/partner conflicts, or that sense of loneliness that we try to hide so others don't notice them? What about those intrusive painful memories from the past that we just can't let them go no matter how hard we try? It's like they follow us like our shadow. I want to help you start that journey of self-discovery and healing so you can enjoy the beauty of living with a freed mind and be your authentic self, unapologetically.

Education & Experience

I hold my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Social Work from San Diego State University. I graduated with my MSW in 2019 and have conducted individual, group, and family therapy. Throughout my therapeutic career, I've worked with clients from many backgrounds and diverse issues. For 4 years, I worked with survivors of human trafficking (sexual and labor) and sexual exploitation of children, teens, and young adults, with their healing process, including utilizing EMDR. This work gave me deep understanding of the different systemic traumas youth experience, including unprotected households/families, the foster care system, educational system, and justice system, and the lasting trauma impacts it can have on people. In addition, I had the privilege to serve as a bilingual therapist for the humanitarian crisis of unprecedented unaccompanied children arriving in San Diego in 2021. In this experience, I provided psychotherapy services to thousands of immigrant children who faced indescribable traumas on their months-long journeys to the US without their parents. I'm currently a Faculty Therapist at San Diego State University's Counseling and Psychological Services providing psychotherapy to undergraduate and graduate students, including international students. Aside from private practice, I'm currently a Faculty Therapist at San Diego State University's Counseling and Psychological Services providing psychotherapy to undergraduate and graduate students, including international students and former foster youth.
