About Me

I’m the founder and Clinical Director of Kaafi Counseling, LLC. My passion lies in helping individuals, couples, and families navigate their unique journeys of healing, growth, and transformation. I believe in the power of resilience and the potential for profound change when people are given the right tools and support. My commitment to trauma healing stems from deeply personal roots. My family’s experiences with dislocation and life as refugees have given me a heartfelt understanding of the complexities of trauma and PTSD. This background drives my dedication to raising awareness about historical and generational trauma while building networks that empower individuals and communities to lead healthy, transformative lives. I’m also a strong advocate for making mental health services accessible to everyone and for fostering inclusive, healing spaces where all feel seen and supported. My clinical approach focuses on uncovering and amplifying the inherent strengths and resilience within individuals, couples, families, and communities. If you’re seeking a compassionate and trauma-informed partner in your healing journey, I would be honored to work with you. Together, we can build a path toward lasting change and empowerment.

Education & Experience

I hold a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Qualified Supervisor for Registered Mental Health Counselor Interns in Florida, I bring over 20 years of professional experience in leadership roles across both public and private sectors. My expertise includes working as an EMDR Certified Therapist, specializing in refugee and migration trauma, intensive EMDR therapy, and addressing relationship and attachment challenges to foster healing and lasting transformation.
