About Me

I am the founder and Clinical Director of Kaafi Counseling, LLC. I am and have always been passionate about promoting mental health, the healing of trauma and emphasizing the uniqueness of each individual, couple and family and their potential for growth and transformations. I am committed to healing trauma, creating awareness of historical and generational trauma and strengthening networks that lead to healthy and transformative lives. This commitment has been shaped by my own family’s devastating dislocation and refugee experiences. The lived experiences of my family have instilled in me a deep sense of appreciation of the treatment of trauma and PTSD. I am also an advocate for accessible mental health services for ALL and the creation of inclusive and healing spaces in our communities and my clinical approach builds on existing resilience within individuals, couples, families and communities.

Education & Experience

I have obtained my Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling and Doctorate in Educational Leadership.Dr. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Qualified Supervisor for Registered Mental Health Counselor Interns in the state of Florida with over 20 years of professional experience serving in various leadership roles in the public and private sectors. These experience include but are not limited to providing leadership for the development and implementation of mental health programs and inclusive educational practices and the design of psychoeducational curricula for trauma healing and to enhance resilience and healthy community and individual transformations.
