About Me
My name is Gabi. I work virtually. I enjoy the ease it offers. You can be comfortable in your own home while we work, bring a blanket, bring a cup of coffee, bring your authentic self. I am casual and like creating a calm space to talk with you.
I have worked with lots of people, but I am most often found by women who are chronically ill and mildly depressed, people who are sensitive, people who think they are probably on the spectrum, artists, and burned-out adults who used to be gifted children. I also hear a lot from the women who love too much but feel unseen, over thinkers, deep thinkers, over workers, over-eaters, lonely people, and people who feel like they are just different.
So, who am I? Therapist is a strange term that means so many things. I am more like a healer, scholar, artist, or advisor than a businessperson. I am one of those people that animals come over to and babies calm down for. I love people, I love helping, and I love not just listening but hearing and caring about what I hear. I help in lots of ways, but I am primarily a talk therapist. I will talk with you about all the things that no one else can or will, and I will tell you what I hear based on my training. I like patterns, I listen to not just what you say but all the patterns in what is said, all the ideas and feelings that you can't shake but can't exactly name. I love to learn and have collected many tools that I can use as we work, EMDR for making trauma haunt you less, meditation, dream interpretation, parts work, and so much more. You are unique and your experience will be too.
I am easy to contact and will respond quickly. I know life happens, if you need to reschedule or change frequency, I support you. If you are chronically ill and never know if you will have a hard day, I understand. Once we begin working you can just text me to schedule or reschedule, I am here for you.
Education & Experience
I have a Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Missouri St. Louis. I have completed a two year Advanced Psycho-dynamic Psychotherapy training and Practicum program at the St. Louis Psychoanalytic Institute. I had additional training in EMDR, and hold a certification as a Clinical Trauma Professional. I gather education regularly on many topics to improve my work.
Professional & Volunteer Affiliations
I am deeply committed to increasing mental healthcare equity and lowering economic disparities in treatment accessibility. To support this mission, I maintain a credentialed partnership as an open-network provider with the Open Path Psychotherapy Collective. I hold professional memberships with the American Counseling Association, Missouri Counseling Association, and EMDRIA
