Georgiana Peters, LICSW
(she/her)
Preferred Name: Georgiana
About Me
I specialize in complex trauma and see clients via telehealth in Washington state. I enjoy supporting clients who have been wounded by abuse and trauma: be that from an intimate partner, family member, or within their family or ancestral lineage from broader systems like colonialization, forced migration and enslavement. I also enjoy supporting clients in compassionately rediscovering who they are now after such experiences and explore how they have always been participating in their own liberation. As a parent myself, I like to support others who are doing the often invisible physical, mental and emotional labor of parenting, or who are gestational, while working on their own healing. As a white, cis-gender woman I consider racial equity and anti-oppression work to be a necessity both in and outside of therapy.
Education & Experience
My educational background includes a Bachelor’s of Criminal Justice with a specialization in Forensic Psychology from Seattle University, and I received my Master of Social Work from the University of Washington. I have worked with survivors of intimate partner violence and domestic violence for over seven years in an agency setting providing mental health therapy, advocacy-based counseling, safety planning, crisis intervention, parenting support and group facilitation.
