About Me
Hello! My name is Hasti Afkhami and I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in Los Angeles, CA. I work with adults facing challenges including depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, stress, grief/loss, and substance abuse.
As a trauma informed therapist, I am passionate about treating the whole person: physically, emotionally, and spiritually. I utilize various techniques (including EMDR) to help clients establish both internal and external resources needed to explore the impact trauma has had on present day experience and work towards trauma processing in a safe and contained way.
As a mental health professional, it is exciting and humbling to witness clients change their lives and find peace and resiliency. Trauma can change the way we think, change our relationship with our bodies and change how we interact with people around us. As such, I believe that connecting with ourselves and with others is vital for living a life we all want. I create a therapeutic space that offers authenticity, safety, curiosity, and humor to encourage self-discovery, change, and healing.
