Heather Cannon, LCSW, LICSW, EdS
About Me
Hi! My name is Heather. I have been living on the Treasure Coast area of Florida since 2001. As the wife of a first responder and Army Veteran, and mother of two first responders, I have seen the benefits of quality care for mental health made available to these special populations. I work full time as a Clinical Social Worker for the West Palm Beach VAHC and see patients virtually in my private practice some evenings and weekends. As a trained EMDR therapist, I use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing to help clients reprocess traumatic experiences, so they no longer carry the same emotional intensity. I also incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help strengthen coping skills and challenge unhelpful thought patters. I am presently licensed in Florida and Massachusetts. My style is grounded, direct, and supportive. I aim to create a space where you feel understood, respected, and empowered to move forward with greater resilience and peace. When I am not camping at one of Florida’s beautiful state parks, I am spending time with my adult children, husband, and two Golden Doodles, Doug and Bodhi.
Education & Experience
I have completed both bachelor's and master's degrees in the field of Social Work. And have been working in the field for over 23 years. In 2023 I earned my EdS in School Counseling.
