About Me

I’m Hilla Flohr, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-C) offering virtual therapy for adults in Maryland, Virginia, Washington DC, and California. I specialize in trauma-informed therapy, including EMDR therapy and Somatic Experiencing, and support individuals navigating anxiety, trauma, and life transitions.

What continues to draw me to this work is the opportunity to walk alongside people as they reconnect with themselves in more compassionate and authentic ways. I’m especially interested in the connection between emotional healing, the nervous system, and the body’s wisdom. I believe that when we feel supported and understood, it becomes a little easier to stay with ourselves and begin to heal.

My approach integrates EMDR therapy, Somatic Experiencing, mindfulness-based practices, and body-based awareness, while always staying attuned to your unique experience. As a trauma therapist, I focus on creating a space where you can gently explore what’s coming up, process difficult experiences, and stay connected to yourself along the way.

I work with adults navigating anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and relationship challenges. This may include feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from yourself, or noticing patterns that feel difficult to shift on your own. I offer virtual therapy sessions designed to feel supportive, flexible, and accessible from the comfort of your own space.

In addition to my work as a therapist and trauma-informed yoga teacher, I’m also a mom to two beautiful children and two golden retrievers. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, moving my body, traveling, and finding moments to slow down when I can.

Education & Experience

I bring more than 15 years of experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds. I received my B.A. in Psychology from the University of Haifa in Israel and my Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Maryland.

After moving to the United States and completing my MSW, I spent nearly a decade working at a domestic violence agency, providing trauma therapy to survivors of intimate partner violence. Through this work, I had the honor of witnessing the strength and resilience people carry, even during some of the most painful and overwhelming moments. That experience continues to shape how I show up as a therapist today.
