Dr. Ilene Kaskel, Psy.D.

About Me

Dr. Kaskel is a licensed clinical psychologist with extensive experience treating children, adolescents, adults, older adults, couples, and families. Having been trained with an assimilative integrated approach to psychotherapy, Dr. Kaskel possesses a solid knowledge base of Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), as well as the ability to incorporate other therapeutic techniques into her patients' treatment. Dr. Kaskel is competent and experienced in providing comprehensive neuropsychological and psychological assessment services. She understands that time is valuable and the results of psychological evaluations are often relied upon in making important decisions regarding the future. As such, Dr. Kaskel completes her reports within days, rather than weeks. After earning her bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware, Dr. Kaskel went on to obtain her master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and Doctorate of Psychology from the American School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University (Washington, DC campus). She later completed a formal post-doctoral residency with Nova Southeastern University before she entered into private practice in 2010. In 2009, Dr. Kaskel published her book, Social skills training for adolescents with autism: Suggestions for an age- and setting-appropriate intervention program. She was trained in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy via an externship and intensive Core Skills training sessions. Further, Dr. Kaskel was trained in EMDR via a didactic program and supervised practicum and is now an EMDRIA approved EMDR clinician.
