Dr. Janet S Hoffer, DSW, LCSW
About Me
Many of the people Dr. Hoffer works with have complicated histories and families. They have struggled with relationships and symptoms of one kind or another and come to therapy to share their experiences, sometimes for the very first time. Dr. Hoffer's approach is interactive, providing treatment which includes educating you about present day experiences, as well as helping you understand influences from the past. Her role is to help you identify unhealthy patterns and explore emotions that may be impeding you in your life. Together you will explore relationships, thoughts, and feelings in order for the present to be addressed differently. Therapy is a learning process through which you can develop the potential to make profound changes for your future. While Dr. Hoffer works with a myriad of issues, she specializes in Trauma, PTSD, and Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing. Her approach to therapy utilizes Contemporary Psychoanalysis, Attachment Theory, Trauma Theory, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and EMDR.
