About Me

Hi. I'm Jen Olson (She/her). I am a therapist with over 20 years of experience working with people who are doing their best to cope with overwhelming situations. Most of my career has been in northern practice both in the Northwest Territories and in the Yukon. My focus is working with CPTSD, particularly in collaboration with Indigenous communities. I work with people with symptoms of PTSD, often those with workplace injuries or first responders. I also have first-hand experience with PTSD and traumatic loss, as well as neurodivergence.

Education & Experience

I have a Master's Degree in Social Work from Dalhousie University (2010) and a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from the University of Calgary (2000). I completed basic training in EMDR in 2016. Since 2020, I have been consulting on a monthly basis with Robin Shapiro. I have completed training in parts work (ego state therapy, IFS), as well as a background in attachment-based therapies (EFT, Neufeld Institute, attachment-based play therapies) as well as narrative therapies (Yaletown Narrative Therapy, Hinks-Dellcrest Centre). I'm committed to anti-oppressive work and look at life and therapy through an intersectional lens.
