As a clinically licensed psychotherapist in San Diego, California, I provide evidence brain-based EMDR and Brainspotting treatment to support the mental healthcare and treatment of sports performance problems caused by significant negative experiences or injury. Those experiences can lead to performance problems commonly known as a slump, a block, and yips, which then can lead to Lost Move Syndrome (LMS). LMS presents itself as an athlete suddenly losing the ability to execute a previously mastered skill they once performed with ease. By reprocessing how the brain digested the significant negative memory, we can reset the brain and nervous system connection to return the Athlete to peak performance. EMDR and Brainspotting for Peak Performance also helps to “install” positive programming for future tasks, challenges, and high stakes events. I help my clients release mental fears and any blocks leading to enhanced performance on the field.
