About Me

I believe that every person has the capacity to transform past traumatic experiences, create healthy and loving connections with others, and live a life full of purpose. My passion is guiding and supporting children, teens, young adults, and adults to work through challenges within a safe and supportive therapeutic relationship. I utilize an individualized and eclectic approach that can include: EMDR, Expressive Therapies, Play Therapy, Theraplay, Mindfulness, CBT, and other modalities. I love teaching and providing supervision to residents and I am a Maryland and Virginia board approved supervisor and an EMDR Consultant In Training, providing EMDR consultation to EMDR trained consultees.

Education & Experience

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Maryland, DC, and Virginia with over 23 years experience working with youth, adults, & families in a wide variety of settings across the treatment continuum (DSS/CPS, adoption, therapeutic foster care, acute psychiatric inpatient hospital units and a residential treatment center). I currently serve as a Psychotherapist with the Gil Institute for Trauma Recovery & Education, an outpatient group private practice setting providing trauma focused therapies to individuals of all ages. I see clients virtually and in-person in Fairfax, VA. I am a Registered Play Therapist, EMDR Certified/EMDR Consultant In Training, and I am a board approved LCSW/LCSW-C supervisor in Maryland and Virginia. I currently serve as an Adjunct Faculty member with the graduate social work programs of two Universities. I earned a BA in Psychology from Dickinson College and a MSW degree from New York University.
