About Me
Welcome! I'm Jessica Sweeney, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Professional Counselor, and Licensed Professional Counselor of Mental Health. I am in state provider for the state of Florida and an out-of-state provider for the states of Delaware and Colorado. I believe by connecting with our authentic selves, we find the strength and resilience we might have long forgotten. You don't have to live the rest of your life feeling stuck in the past or overwhelmed by the present and future. As a counselor who has been practicing for over 10 years, I learn from my clients every day and am humbled to be a part of their journeys. As a certified EMDR Therapist, I practice from the understanding that our bodies are capable of healing and that the solutions are within us. In my free time, I enjoy time with my family, reading, gardening, consuming all things Star Wars (Episode 6 will forever be the best), and training our little therapy dog, Princeton. I manage stress by doing HIIT workouts, meditation, creating art, or talking to my support network. I am here to walk with you on your path of healing and growth, with a readiness to provide support and empowerment along the way. It's time to take back your life and rediscover you!
Education & Experience
I am a certified EMDR therapist and EMDR Consultant in Training, specializing in the areas of trauma, PTSD, anxiety, and women's health/birthing people. I also assist clients cope with day-to-day stressors or adjusting to difficult times in their lives. I often utilize and integrate Ego State, Attachment focused and IFS/Parts work in my work with EMDR. As a Mom, I understand what it means to be a parent and walk the path of this role being the most meaningful, yet most difficult job I've ever had. While I carry my lived experiences with me, I can maintain a safe and warm environment for us to focus on our concerns and work on our goals in therapy. Bachelors of Science in Psychology from the University of Florida Masters of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Roosevelt University Have attended advanced trainings in the areas of Maternal Health and Attachment focused, Ego State specialities within EMDR
