About Me
I am a Registered Social Worker, Psychotherapist in London, Ontario, with experience in a variety of roles providing direct service to individuals experiencing intimate partner violence, mental health and substance use challenges for 9+ years. I have experience providing clinical counseling, assessment, crisis intervention, and system navigation support through community organizations and hospital settings.
Knowing when to reach out for support can be difficult, and I’m so grateful that you’re here. My psychotherapeutic approach is fundamentally based on Relational Theory as I firmly believe that meaningful change begins with authentic human connection – an experience that is often lacking in our current sociocultural environment. Whether it’s past trauma that is continuing to impact you, recent traumatic experiences that you just cannot seem to get through, current situational stressors, or anything in between - let’s collaborate and make a plan to begin feeling like your ideal self and living your best life. The processing skills and coping strategies that you’ve been using may not be as effective as they once were. Together, we can work towards identifying and deconstructing the challenge that you may be facing. My practice is rooted in the belief that individuals are strong and capable – and sometimes life challenges are just too complex for us to overcome without adequate support. Informed by Polyvagal Theory, we will work together to increase awareness of and improve the bodymind connection.
Utilizing various evidence-based therapeutic modalities depending on your unique experiences, we will collaborate to identify and work towards achievement of your expressed goals and needs. The foundation of my practice is in a holistic, trauma-informed, strengths-based approach – focusing on meeting each individual where they are at in their healing journey. I strive to create a warm, safe, welcoming environment to support an authentic connection. Psychotherapy sessions are available in office, virtually, or walk-and-talk in the community/nature (yes, even in the cold weather - bundle up and bring a hot beverage!).
