About Me

Jessica Taylor Vara, LMFT is an EMDRIA Approved Consultant™ and Certified EMDR Therapist specializing in complex trauma, attachment wounds, anxiety, and the lasting impact of adverse childhood experiences.

Jessica provides individual and group consultation to therapists pursuing EMDRIA Certification as well as clinicians seeking greater confidence and competence in their EMDR work. Her consultation style is warm, collaborative, and grounded in the Adaptive Information Processing (AIP) model. She strives to create an environment where therapists feel supported, challenged, and comfortable bringing both successes and struggles into the consultation process.

Drawing from her work with complex trauma and dissociation, Jessica enjoys helping consultees strengthen case conceptualization skills, identify effective target sequences, navigate blocked processing, and apply EMDR Therapy with greater flexibility and confidence. She is passionate about helping clinicians move beyond protocol memorization toward a deeper understanding of how and why EMDR works.

Consultees often describe Jessica as approachable, encouraging, and practical. Her goal is to help therapists feel more confident in the therapy room while staying grounded in the core principles of the AIP model.

Jessica maintains a trauma-focused private practice serving adults throughout California and Florida and provides consultation virtually from Valencia, Spain.
